Cakes in downtown LA

Sarahpet | Jul 31, 200402:49 PM

My office is constantly looking for good cakes within walking distance of 8th & Figueroa (for office celebrations). So far, we've tried:

-Mrs. Beasley's in the 7th & Fig food court, which is horrendous. (Good soups, oddly enough, but their cakes are overpriced and stale.)
-- Phoenix Bakery in Chinatown. Great cakes, but you have to drive/DASH there.
-- The Original Pantry - pretty good carrot cake, but I think they have a pretty small/erratic selection.
--Nazo's, on 8th between Figueroa and Flower - pretty good bundt cake, but it looked pretty ordinary.

Any other ideas? Also, if something wonderful were just a short drive away or closely accessible to a DASH or Red Line Stop, I'd consider it.
