Cake recovery - help!

I guess I was a bit eager to get to bed last night and covered my cake with aluminum foil before it had fully cooled. This morning it looks a bit wet/soggy; how can I get it back to a more freshly-baked texture? Can I just leave it uncovered during the day and let some of the moisture evaporate??
