taking a cue from the board I had dinner at Caffe' Bella Venezia last night.
It is good for a neighborhood place, the chef is from Venice, but the menu is pretty standard Italian.
I had a dish with three pastas: fusilli with a light pesto that was good, homemade gnochi in a red sauce which tasted light and pillowy, and chicken ravioli in a creme sauce which tasted homemade and the flavors were fresh.
My wife had salmon with pancetta wrapped around it, which did not taste fresh and was overcooked, the pancetta was too salty for it, so I ate the pancetta along with the gnochi which added to the flavor. (I like gnochi in a creme sauce with gorgonzola and pancetta).
The atmosphere is local and casual, the decor is simple with soft lighting and the service is attentive.
For two spinach salads, two entrees and three glasses of wine (ice cream dessert is complimentary) the total bill was $50 with tax.
