We live in San Francisco, but will be having a small wedding in Chicago this summer. I am trying to choose a restaurant for our wedding night, for 15 people. We have both lived in Chicago, but there are so many new restaurants, I'm having a very difficult time deciding!
I tried North Pond, but they are booked with another wedding party on the evening in question. Right now, I am thinking either Cafe Spiaggia or Boka. Both are within my price range. I went to Cafe Spiaggia many years ago, and remember liking it, but have been reading some not so great reviews recently, stating that the food may have become more "corporate". I've heard good things about Boka.
I don't necessarily need a private room, and I don't want to do a tasting menu. I'd rather not have an extremely loud room, but I don't need it to be silent, either. We're not very formal people, but will be dressed up (not tuxes and ballgowns, but probably suits and dresses). Location doesn't really matter, as long as it's not in a suburb.
So, Cafe Spiaggia? Boka? Somewhere else? Any help would appreciated.
