Cafe Azalea Asheville

Went to cafe azalea today in east Asheville, and was pleasantly surprised. The space is warm and inviting. Apparently they serve brunch on both Sat. and Sun. (lunch throughout the week, no dinner...yet) The menu was great. A nice selection of Salads (i.e. a Spinach with apple wood bacon and blue cheese and a cobb with smoked salmon) Several sandwiches (i.e. a muffalata (sp), portabello with tapanade) and lunch entrees. The breakfast items included both egg and non egg dishes. I had house made granola with yogurt and fresh fruit ($7) and my husband had an omelette with brie, leeks and lobster-served with fruit, toast and grits ($11-most expensive thing on the menu) I was able to see other diners dishes, and everything looked good. They serve beer and wine as well. Service was prompt-no complaints there. They are doing a special valentines dinner with a menu that look spectacular-$60 or $85 with wine pairing. If you are ever in the east Asheville area check it out! (its across the street from pomodoro's)
