Think Cafe

Hadn't been for many months to Think Cafe on Western, one of my favorite BYOB's. Some changes there include a new meat supplier, and I took advantage of that fact with one of the best filet mignon I've had in a great long time. Nine or ten ounces, marvelously grilled with pommes frite AND garlic mashed potatoes AND garlic sauteed spinach. Fantastic! The white asparagus appetizer, served with a vinegar-laden salad of red onion and diced peppers, is as always a treat. One of Think's great features is the on-premises dessert prep by Chef Omar, and the zuccotto last night was both (a) amazing and (b) a different recipe from the past, larger and sliced like a layer cake. Can't recommend Think highly enough, and even though the liquor store across the street is finally wising up to the BYOB possibilities (e.g., they recently installed blonde wood wine racks next to the cooler of 40's and the racks of Screw magazine), they do have some interesting wine selections at wildly under-market prices.
