Damn, I wasnt trying to piss anyone off, just thinking out loud. here is the deal Lets look at Django for example....the menu is full of BS embellishments just to make it sound appetizing and the food is not as good as it reads, that is why i call it "ordinary". Anyone who disagrees either hasnt read django's menu or doesnt know what they are talking about. I like the idea of what the restaurant stands for but cmon, the food is basic. To all you food experts, what is "wild Halibut" ???.....Halibut that grows on trees ?. The menu is a mish mash of poorly executed concepts. People feel food is amazing if it EXCEEDS what the can competently cook.
Just because it is better that you are used to doesnt mean it is great. Look at the simpleton expansion of nuevo latino food in philly. All those places are not about food, none of them got more than 2 bell in the sunday paper. There is definitely corelation between dollars spent and perception of flavor in philly.
