Any suggestions/recommendations/advice when buying small blocks of fish for sushi/sashimi? The only recommendations I heard were to tell the fishmonger that we were going to make sushi. Can anyone recommend a particular place to buy fish for sushi? I often buy inexpensive fish from places I wouldn't trust with raw fish, like Costco, Maine Ave or low-cost mom and pops.
obviously Costco quality is great, but it's all pre-packaged or thawed.
I'm thinking one block of salmon and one of tuna and that's it.
