I wandered into Sogo Bakery in Burlingame yesterday, just for a snack to get me through my shopping trip to Lunardis. (Sogo and Lunardis are in the same shopping center, on El Camino Real right around the Millbrae/Burlingame border.)

Anyway, I bought something called a Butter Bun. OMG, was that good. Just a piece of bread, but what a piece of bread! Crispy on the outside, soft on the inside, incredibly buttery.

Has anyone seen these anywhere else? I want more.

Also, in that same region yesterday I noticed an intensely chocolately smell, as if the entire neighborhood were baking brownies. A friend of mine reports smelling chocolate while driving in that same region on 101. Has someone recently opened a chocolate factory, or did a chocolate-filled airplane spill on the runway, or what?
