I saw a bit on TV tonight about Burrito Beach in the Loop. Although the name says "stay away," I was attracted to the fundraising it's doing for the Chicago Food Depository, in which several Chicago chefs (including Shawn McClain) have come up with burrito recipes whose proceeds will be donated. Gimmicky, sure, but whatever.
The Reader, in one of its finest capsules, calls them "Unspectacular burritos ... that take the wrap concept to its mediocre conclusion." Anyone been? How good were they? Just as important, how *big* were they? And how were costs? A decent alternative to Chipotle?
