Burma Super Star (Clement)

I just tried Burma Super Star for the first time. I had seen the lines out the door waiting for a table and perused the menu outside a couple of times.

I am a hardcore Thai Food fanantic. We visit Thailand annually and know good Thai Food. I frequent Marnee on Irving often and had been looking for a new restaurant to add to my repertoire.

I have to say that Burma Super Star was a complete thrill and way outperformed anything I could have imagined.

The White Sangria with Lychee, Orange and Asian Pear was very refreshing and tropical.

To begin we tried the Samusas (Chicken) with a sweet sriracha kind of sauce. Delicious!

Then we had the Chicken with Basil and Pork with Green Beans as entrees and a sampler or Coconut and Tan Poi Rice.

The Chicken and Basil was spicy and clean with lemon grass, snap peas, holy basil and served over a banana leaf. Beautiful presentation... The Pork with Green Beans... Imagine your favorite barbecue pork ribs without the bone stewed to perfection in a deep smokey sauce.

We also tried the Platha which resembled a plain roti you might find in Malaysia or Thailand. Many paper thin layers bundled in a crispy mass.

When the more than attentive server asked about dessert, I could barely see straight the meal was so good. I had to inquire about the desserts and must say, that I practically went into ecstasy when I heard about these tempting palate teasers. Molten Chocolate Ginger Souffle with Ginger Ice Cream sounded positively scrumptious.

I would definately recommend this to anyone who appreciates exciting flavors and a taste for adventure. I will most definately return with many virgin palates.
