There certainly is a burger craze in town these days. And purveyors are all putting their unique mark on this stolid American staple. In fact this once humble fare has been elevated to an artisanal creation. (Ten years ago it would have been rare to pay more than $10 for a burger. Now this is quite common.) One trend I've noticed is a focus on the quality of meat, to the point that serving a burger rare (or even raw) is no longer verboten. So let's put our collective palates together and rate burgers from 1 (the worst) to ten (the best.) Of course, any discussion regarding why a particular burger deserves a certain rating would be quite helpful.
