Burgers and Brew on 3rd St in Davis
Niman Ranch Burgers (variations include avocado, with different cheeses and additions)
Stella on tap (and other beers)
Chowder and chili

It's about 7-9 dollars for the burgers alone, and the cooking tends to be on the well-done side even if you ask for medium rare. It's a nice juicy burger but In n' Out is cheaper but not as nice an interior. Its pretty popular in Davis right now. Lines are long.

Dianda's Italian Bakery in Fair Oaks
Old school American-Italian bakery. It's like the sweets version of checkercloth Italian restaurant. Cannoli are crispy with ricotta filling and studded with chocolate chips. This is a nice dessert. The soft almond cookies are marzipan filled and slightly too sweet, probably better with coffee. The rum cake has a lot of rum in it, but suffers from too much pastry cream. I wouldn't drive for it unless you grew up with this kind of stuff.

Queen of Tarts in Midtown next to McKinley Park
The low fat scones are too dry. The butter filled ones contain fresh seasonal fruit and taste pretty good. Apple and blackberry was pretty good.
