Passing through Petaluma recently, I pulled off the road to get an early dinner while waiting for traffic to ease up. My last visit was more than four years ago.
The dinner menu, posted on the wall, is pictured below. This time around I ordered a buffalo burger. The salad with it was red lettuce with kidney beans again, but not wilted this time. My burger was medium-rare, exactly as ordered. It needed salt and pepper to perk up the flavor. Leaner than beef, I found the patty somewhat too firm. What was special though was the nicely toasted bun. Irregular in shape with a high dome, chewy crumb and crustier, the bun and all the breads here come from local old-time baker, Lombardi's French Bakery.
