buche de noel question -- please help!

This is about the cake. After it comes out of the oven, I'm supposed to roll it up right away and let it cool that way, then unroll it and fill it. Can I make the cake today, roll it, unroll it and then fill it tomorrow? Or would it be more likely to break if I make it early? Really appreciate any help.
