Bubble Drinks (NOT TEA) in Manhattan?

VivreManger | Jan 1, 2006 08:29 AM

Where is the best place to get bubble drinks in and around Manhattan's Chinatown? I don't mean tea drinks, but rather an inauthentic smoothie-type room temperature (not necessarily cold) drink with tapioca pearls thrown in for texture.

We have tried them at home, and in the Chinatowns of Chicago, Manhattan, and Boston. So far the best one was in a recently-opened Vietnamese place in Boston.

The problem with the home version is that while it is pretty good the first time, we don't consume enough tapioca pearls to justify the preparation. And then lying around, they go bad. Any other suggestions on what to do with massive quantities of pearls?

But the immediate question is where to get them in Manhattan, preferably someplace not too far from the F line.
