brunch at Oyamel

Geoff | Mar 6, 2006 09:05 AM

Have been to Oyamel a few times, but yesterday was a first visit at brunch time. They offer their full menu, plus a small brunch menu on top of that.

We had a pitcher of outstanding cafe de olla. Two egg dishes: a small omelette with squash, tomato and a touch of cheese (served with a side of salsa verde, one of the best i've had in a while); and huevos mexicanos, a nice scramble with diced vegetables served over their excellent tortillas, which had a thin layer of frijoles spread on them. Followed this with a baked banana, topped with queso fresco - not sure of the spicing. and, to finish, churros with mexican hot chocolate to dunk and drink.

Everything was really excellent, total bill including tip was approx $35. I'm looking forward to returning.
