Brunch in Battery Park, Tribeca, Soho

ThorNYC | Apr 23, 2003 12:56 PM

I'll be going to some screenings at the Tribeca Film Festival next month. Several of them are for morning screenings on the weekends, so I'd appreciate suggestions for brunch (and Saturday lunch) down there.

One film is at The Screening Room, right below Canal, so southwestern Soho could also be considered. And the other screenings are at the UA cineplex at Battery Park. Close is good, although we're not adverse to a walk if the food is worth it. If possible (I know it's not common for brunch), places that take reservations for 2 for brunch are preferred, as I expect there'll be a lot of other festival folk down there, too, and as an inveterate Noo Yawker, I'm not keen on waiting.

I did my Chowhound search engine research, and came up with:
CITY HALL
FRESH
ODEON
BUBBY'S
LITTLE BIGGER
KITCHENETTE
FRANKLIN STATION
LE ZINC
TRIBECA GRILL
TRIBECA GRAND HOTEL
AMERICAN PARK
THE HARRISON

We're both "good eats" kind of guys, so I think that eliminates the more rarified Fresh. Bubbie's has more nays than yays on the board. What would you recommend, including area restaurants not on this list?

Thanks in advance, fellow hounds, for your recommendations and suggestions,

Thor
