The last time I was in Southern California, the big beer news of the day was that Brouwerij West would be building its own brewing facility and tasting room in the Port of Los Angeles. After many delays, it finally opened about six months ago. And yesterday I had a chance to join a friend there.

The space is enormous with plenty of seating inside and out. Children are welcome to hang out and there's lot of room outdoors for them to run around. A couple food trucks were parked outside for eats. Across the way, Crafted is open on the weekends for some unique shopping and a few more food options.

I tried a fruity and floral Saison that was so refreshing after the long drive south. I'm interested in hearing from those who know more about beer than I do on their impressions of the craft here.
