Just wanted to tell my fellow hounds, especially those who were at the Chow Social, that I made Brooklynmonkey's almond squares this weekend for a party and they were 1)easy as pie, and 2)a big hit!!!
One clarification I'd like to make is that the recipe states they should be baked for about 50 min @ 350 deg. F.** If you make them, check them at about 45 min, because mine were a bit too dark @ 50 min. I initially despaired when I saw them, but then I just cut off about 1/2" around the perimeter (which my Dad inhaled anyway, figuring that they had "no calories," since they were scraps!!). Thanks again to Brooklynmonkey for a delicious and easy recipe!!
**BTW, I have an oven thermometer, so my temp is accurate.
