My friend's turning 30... so I'm looking for a Manhattan restaurant that 1) could take 10-15 mostly well-behaved people on a Saturday night, 2) serves a wide range of crowd-pleasing food to comply with various guests' tastes and dietary requirements (so probably ethnic's out, sadly), 3) serves plentiful and well-priced booze, and 4) is moderately priced, overall. What else? Not too noisy we can't talk but not so quiet the revelry would disturb others. And a memorable location would be nice.
So...how's the food/drinks/vibe at the waterfront Battery Park restaurants? (Steamers Landing? Also considering An American Place, though that might be a little pricey...) On the low end, I love the Waterfront Ale House in Brooklyn and might consider the Manhattan one. Other suggestions very, very welcome. Thanks!
