I keep forgetting how great this place is (right across from the Middle East in Central Square.) Not sure where the owners are from (does anyone know?), but there's a lot of Middle Eastern-type foods on the regular menu. From baba ghanoush (sp?) and tabbouleh to curry goat and lamb kebabs. Breakfasts are great. Today was spinach & cheese omelette for me, eggs benedict for my friend. Dishes come piled with fresh grilled vegetables with a nice seasoning (perhaps rosemary?) Nothing is every greasy and the eggs are never over-cooked. Great home fried potatoes, crisp on the outside, soft and hot on the inside. Pile of wheat toast. Friend liked that the english muffins on her eggs benedict were grilled, too.
Sometimes when you ask for hot sauce they bring you some home made stuff that I'd say almost reminds me of harissa-type seasoning, it's a thick tomato-base with great heat. Also their jam must be home made, too - last time it was some kind of berry that had fennel seeds in it - yummy! These two dishes, plus an orange juice and a side of bacon came to $13.33. How can you beat that? The coffee stinks, so I always bring one from Toscanini's or 1369 and then I've got it made.
