Sunday night my family and I had dinner in the restaurant from hell, The Brick House in Wyckoff, NJ. What was once a wonderful and classy dining experience had changed into an expensive, over rated and very disappointing evening. Waiter acted like we were an annoyance, didn't even offer the specials to us, totally ignored us all night. I ordered the filet mignon medium and my husband ordered a t-bone rare. After waiting over a half hour for the meals, they came out reversed in cooking time. Couldn't get the waiters attention. What really bothered us was that we had asked the waiter (after trying to flag him down several times) what they had that my son could eat. My son wanted fried calamari, the waiter said they had no fried foods. We ordered my son something else. Later a large party sat next to us and a huge platter of fried calamari was brought to the table! I asked the waiter why they could order it. The waiter said "thats the boss' table and he can order what he wants." Try explaining that to a 7 yr old who was furious. Only a year ago we went to the restaurant and the host was stopping men and asking them next time to wear sports coats. Last evening most of the people in the restaurant looked like they had come from the gym or worse. It was a disappointing evening to say the least. We won't return. Our total bill before tip was $110 which included only 2 entrees, one appetizer for my son, 4 glasses of wine. Ridiculous. I feel like writing the owner. Should I?
