I just had the best Mexican food of my life. I had the pollo en salsa verde. The chicken was perfectly cooked and the salsa verde was to die for. It was very fresh tasting with more spiciness than other salsa verdes that I have had. Additionally, the salsa to start with was off the charts good. It was full of cilantro, very fresh tomatoes, red onion, and jalapenos. The food here takes a little longer to get than traditional Mexican restaurants because everything is made fresh and not microwaved, but it is worth the wait.

The owners are actually from the Dominican Republic and they will be adding some Dominican dishes to their menu. Hector, the owner, told me that he would make any Dominican dish that I wanted. He made one tonight for a customer that was green beens with coconut rice, chicken criolla, and tostones. It sounded awesome and the customer ordered an extra order to take home. He said that since everything is made fresh in house to give him a 20 to 30 minute notice on the Dominican dishes and he will have it prepared when you arrive.

I urge all of you to give this place a chance. I just walked in tonight and found a hidden gem. It is located near Glenwood South on the corner of Peace Street and St. Mary's.
