Breakfast @ Singletree Inn, Healdsburg

Melanie Wong | Mar 15, 200304:39 AM

I’d not been back to Singletree (165 Healdsburg Ave., open 7am-3pm) since the ownership changes, hearing mixed things about the home-style food. In its hey day, the parking lot was always full at meal time and there’d be a wait for tables. Lately, the place didn’t look nearly as popular. But last Saturday, the parking lot looked full when I drove by. So, I pulled into the last parking space left, and found a seat at the counter.

I played it safe and ordered the combo breakfast, which was 2 eggs, sausage (or bacon), and a waffle (or pancakes). The orange juice was squeezed to order. The eggs were truly over-easy and the plump links were good quality. The buttermilk waffle was too tough, and yet I did appreciate that the syrup was warm and maple-y.

Has anyone else been here recently?
