I'm looking for the ultimate recipe (spice-mix) for breakfast sausage (with or without maple flavor). I must have tried about 50 already, both purchased on-line spice blends, purchased grocery store spice blends, and made many of my own. None of them satisfies my taste buds. The closest I've had to "perfection" has been Alton Brown's spice-mix recipe. It's okay, but doesn't quite cut it for me. I'm looking for something "tastier" and "livelier", and I know that's a hard quest, since not all taste buds are created equal. If I could only get the secret recipe for Bob Evans, breakfast sausage spice blend, I'd be a happy man. I guess I'm into breakfast sausage in a BIG way. Thanks for any help/advice I can get.
