breakfast in Sac area

had the best breakfast yesterday at The Gold Miner Cafe in Folsom. (Bidwell St.) Fresh ingredients, home fries to die for and fantastic service. We went when it was very busy and the service was on top of it. No wait for anything. I had "Bufffalo" style pork chops (2) and eggs with the home fries and a huge, fluffy, homemade biscuit.($6.95) The pork chop was flavored with buffalo wing sauce. Not too heavy with the sauce, just the right amount of flavoring. the chops were thick and boneless grilled to perfection. On top of the chops was a fire roasted anaheim chile pepper. Nice Touch. I couldn't come close to fininshing this meal. That NEVER happens. the home fries are large chunks of potatoes and onions with bell peppers and cheese. The best I've had in Sacto area EVER. My wife had the "Santa Fe" scramble. Scrambled eggs, ham, fresh fire-roasted chilis, some other stuff and lots of cheese. Also home-made salsa. TOO much!!!! There is also a hot sauce wall with many kinds of hot sauces for diners to enjoy. There are many specials on their board and all are made with fresh ingredients. We saw many other orders and all had nice touches, roasted chilis, sliced avacados, home-made salsas and the like, FOR BREAKFAST!!!!! Finally we have found another awesome place for breakfast since most our other faves have slipped considerably in the past little while. (Crickets and Co., Suzy's Country Kitchen, Cornerstone, the Purple Place etc.). These places should pay attention to what is being done at the Gold Miner Cafe in the breakfast hours. It doesn't have to be the same old thing, you CAN cook with some imagination in the morning. Since my work takes me to the Folsom area often, I look forward to trying the Gold Miner for lunch also.
