Does anyone have any expertise on what people in Hebei province in China tend to eat for breakfast, particularly in the way of rice porridge? I have a newly-adopted niece and nephew who grew up in Hebei until ages 10/12 and they're coming to visit us. I've heard they used to eat rice porridge in their orphanage, and they like it. I would like to cook something like that for them, but with so many different types of congee/jook, I'm wondering what type they might most appreciate.
