I used to eat cereal every (I mean, EVERY SINGLE morning) in childhood. It was always nice to open up the cabinet and have a choice of half-a-dozen different cereals.
When I moved out I stopped eating cereal. It's expensive (5$ a box or more, unless it's on sale) and eating other things would save me having to buy milk (which was mainly consumed with cereal). But this morning, I had a huge craving for cereal...
I had a big bowl of Shreddies. I've been regretting it the whole day. Disgusting, bland cardboard things ... which my body does not seem to like. I feel like I ate a loaf of garbage for breakfast... but I know that a year hence, the cereal aisle will beckon once more.
Does anyone else get pulled into the nostalgia of cereal from time-to-time, only to be cruelly rejected?
