Bread baking on pizza stone question

Hey all--

So, somehow, not sure where i even got this link, but probably here, i found a recipe for sourdough starter on egullet. Sourdough Jack, i think, is the guy's name. Anyway, he tells you that he himself bakes his bread in a wood-fired outdoor over. I lack that sort of technology. He does say you can just heat up your oven to 500F and then mentions a baking sheet. He does refer to a baking tile, but just in terms of getting the oven hot enough so the tile does its heat-distributing work.

So...long way around here to my question: if i bake this bread on my pizza stone, on the bottom of the oven, for 35-40min, will it burn? baking pizza at that temp and location only takes ~10min MAX before the bottom begins to seriously brown. I'm wondering if the bottom of my bread will burn? Maybe this is a dumb question, but I can't seem to figure the answer based on my own experience!
