Bowery/East Village - "Not to Be Missed" Dinner?

Andrew Langer | Nov 28, 2005 10:53 AM

Hi there! I'm coming into the city for the Fab Faux concert at Webster Hall in December, and it's a rare night in town for me and my wife without our little ones.

Because this is a special occasion, taking the simple route and going to Katz' is simply out of the question. So, I'm wondering if there's anything that really cannot be missed, dinner-wise, in the vicinity. I believe Webster Hall is on 11th St, between 3rd and Bowery, and this would be at prime dinner hours (the doors open at 8).

Any thoughts? Cost really isn't an issue - we're looking for something extraordinary (though inexpensive and extraordinary would be great). I know some folks like to have particular cuisines as a guide - we're open to anything, however.

Thanks in advance!
