I'm vegetarian and was excited to find some bacon free collard greens, total impulse buy. I've made them from fresh before so telling me those are better isn't so helpful.
What do I do with the canned collards? The ingredients are just the collards and "spices", salt, and vinegar. Am I supposed to drain the liquid in the can or is that the precious "pot liquor"..? I know they're often a side to fried chicken-any meatless meals they go well with?
Or just tell me they suck and I should disguise them in stew....
I passed on the canned field peas and snaps- any feedback on those would be great too!
