Stopped by this place tonight w/ my partner after an afternoon at the Aquarium of the Pacific (which, while enjoyable, feels oddly run-down to me). Moroccan/"Mediterranean" food. Nice indoor/outdoor seating (ruined only by a group of screaming children in the corner and a car alarm that seemed to go off every 5 min!).
I asked the server if she preferred the chicken or lamb tagine; she liked the chicken but said that, if I were in the mood for lamb, to get the lamb shank. My partner ordered the lamb hamburger, and we got some cheese rolls to share.
Cheese rolls were pretty good. Filling was slightly sweet. The skin had an oddly bumpy surface kind of like. Lamb shank was *huge*. I thought it could've been more tender, but my partner thought it was tender enough. Well seasoned, and I liked how they gave a small portion of stew w/ it. Partner's lamb burger was tender; the sauce (kind of a chipotle aioli) was very good, but I feel like I've had it elsewhere. Baba ghanoush (as a side for the burger) was also tasty but perhaps a bit too highly seasoned for my taste.
About $60 for 2 glasses of wine, an Arnold Palmer, 2 entrees, and an app. We were truly stuffed. I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way to go here, but it's a very tasty choice if you're in the area.
