Made the yearly trek to Wisconsin for Christmas, parents insisted on serving "Big Stuff," a "semi-dry" red from an outfit called Botham Vineyards of Barneveld. It was truly ghastly. Cloyingly sweet, with an irritating quasi-fizzy edge to it. Almost reminded me of my adolescent Boones Farm days. Okay, it wasn't THAT bad, but still ... the Botham website claims many international awards. Any positive Botham experiences out there?
