I'll be in the Tampa (really north of Tampa, but I forget the town) visiting friends for 5 days this month. Friends are pretty low key so no big fancy lunches or dinners. I'm VERY adventurous, them not so much. So here's where you can help me out: I figure if I come prepared with a list I can try to "guide" our dining experience away from chain restaurants and towards something more diverse.
(Though I confess that I may just have ONE chik-fil-A!)
I LOVE ethnic food, would prefer suggestions for things I can't get in Boston or NYC, though I've seen lots of Vietnamese recommendations on this board and heck, who ever gets enough Vietnamese food? I'd say no to Chinese/Japanese/Korean recommendations, though.
No to seafood unless it's really something.
Latin food: sure! Mostly Mexican (not necessarily authentic) and Salvadorean here. Mmmm pupusas. Would love to try something different.
I don't know much - nor have I tried much - Cuban food and would be glad for some diverse recommendations there.
Would you believe this girl has NEVER had a proper Cuban coffee!!?? Help me remedy the situation! Perhaps even a few suggestions so I can compare.
The list of Cuban bakeries is already on my list from that earlier thread.
Bonus points: for baby-friendly restaurants/joints. My friends have an infant.
