I am originally from N.Y. and was spoiled by great supermarkets and very fresh produce/selection etc. I have been very disappointed in the markets here but being a "hound" travel all over hell and back for my ingredients. I live approx. 1/2 hr. on a good day, away from Russo's in Watertown. I have read the threads from other hounds saying that they thought prices/quality was slipping however all I can say is "HOLY S---!" I was so impressed by the selection and the price versus Whole Wallet that I kept saying "why doesn't a market like this exist elswewhere" namely, N.Shore where I live????? I mean this place is a GOLD mine. Is the produce market controlled by the mob?? Concept is easy and yet there is nothing like it around here except Whole Wallets and I won't pay the prices therefore I travel about. I am hoping someone on the board can enlighten me???
