My 19 year old & I returned Sunday night from our vacation to the Vineyard & Boston. We're sorry to have missed restaurant week. We did have two fabulous dinners in town. First, Friday night at Great Bay. Not crowded at 9:00, excellent service & food. We always judge seafood restaurants by the calamari & GB's was tasty. My daughter had grilled salmon & I had halibut. We loved the "peezy greezy (sp)" - a risotto with pureed green sauce. Sorry, that doesn't sound appetizing, I know, but I didn't save the proper description; and, regardless, it perfectly complemented the fish. The second meal was on Saturday night at Prezza. Since it was the Fisherman festival, the scene was loud & jolly. Again, our expectations met. We're suckers for arugula so we both ordered carpaccio & arugula. She had grilled lobster. Best, best, blueberry tart along with a peach grappa. We were able to comfortably and safely walk back to our hotel (Jury's) were the scene was happening. Too bad she's just 19 years old or we would have joined the fun. The Vineyard food scene is generally too tepid for our taste and our hosts' taste buds were, too. So we thank you Boston.
