"boozy cookies" substitutions

I printed out the recipe someone posted a couple of months ago for rumballs - made with crushed oreos, powdered sugar, rum etc. Decided to make it tonight for the family for chanukkah, but found all the liquor stores to be closed ( i was going to use chambord). I replaced the booze with coco lopez cream of coconut (last minute inspiration hit in the supermarket), and they were amazing. A hit amongst the adults, and the kids who are way too young for rum balls anyway.

I'd like to come up with some other variations on this recipe - maybe a different liquid, a different coating (i used granulated sugar)...Next time I'd like to make a couple of different kinds - maybe one batch for the grown ups and one for the kids...any thoughts as to what I could use to switch it up a bit?
