A schnitzel place near Goodge Street.
Veal/Wiener schnitzel was fairly thin, with a lovely crispy crumbly batter. Slightly thicker in certain parts where it became less tender, but nothing horrible. On par with Kipferl, maybe a little less homey. Certainly a better deal than The Delaunay, unless one wants a grander dining room.
Toppings such as a fried egg are extra, and if one wants it a la holstein with the egg, anchovies and capers it can add up a little. But all together a good package, the runny yolk enriching the schnitzel, with salty savoury anchovies, and a contrast from the sour capers.
Kaiserschmarrn is pretty good, topped with jam, and full of crisp surfaces to contrast the softer bits beneath. I still like the Kipferl version a little more, chiefly for the more fluffy rendition.
Almdudler, an Austrian soft drink, was interesting to try.
On the whole a pretty enjoyable meal at a fair price. Somewhat newish, would like to see how it evolves.
