once part of the time-warp part of Lincoln on the grand isle of Alameda, it's just risen again in Oakland. on the 3200 block of Grand Ave., directly across the Grand Bakery (traditional Jewish-american), it has a more minimalist space compared to its former digs but the cakes and pastries look much the same. from the sample piece of banana nut pound cake, they do the conventional euro-american sweet stuff as competently as ever. four different kinds of coffee cake, only 7.50 for a whole cake, and plenty of cakes, pies, danishes, cookies in the display cases and cooler.
