Our first meal was lunch at Fat Choy. We shared the pork belly bao (delish!) and my husband has the grilled cheese with short ribs and I had the burger. Both were great but the grilled cheese was better! I don't know if it is worth a cab ride out there but since we had a car that day, it was a great choice before arriving on the Strip. Dinner that night was at Julian Serrano at Aria. It really was just ok and service was so-so. We wouldn't eat there again.
The next morning we wanted to go to Milo's at The Cosmopolitan for lunch so we just grabbed some Starbucks sandwiches at our hotel (Aria). Big mistake....long line and sandwiches were cold. We should have just gone to Jean Phillipe on the first floor of our hotel. Lunch at Milo's (Cosmopolitan) was overall awesome! Definitely glad we upgraded to octopus. My only disappointment was the fish....it was just so-so.....kind of bland. But my husband did upgrade to the lamb chops and they were great! Dinner that night was at Scarpetta. We did have a table with a view of the Bellagio fountains which was nice. The food was very good and service was fine but I don't think we ordered enough courses to really enjoy the restaurant.....We were in and out of there in under an hour. We shared the scallops with foie gras appetizer....lovely....and my husband had the ravioli with duck and foie gras. I had the branzino which was good. We didn't want to order dessert because we were planning to have cocktails at the chandelier bar after.....The tasting menu with wine looked very good but we passed on it because it was too much food. Overall, we liked Scarpetta but probably won't go back the next time we are in Vegas because there are just too many other restaurants to choose from.
The next morning, we woke up late and skipped breakfast. We were in the mood for a burger, so we went to Holstein's. Great choice....we loved our burgers and my husband loved his shake. I upgraded to the onion rings but I would definitely stick to the fries. They are much better. Our final meal in Vegas, was dinner at Lotus of Siam. This was our 4th meal there. We love this place! I had made reservations for 7:30 and were were seated around 8:00. We started with tom yum gai with shrimp for my husband and tom kha gai for me. Both soups were great! Unfortunately, we had to wait about 45 minutes for the rest of our food to arrive. We ordered garlic prawns (always a favorite) and drunken noodles with crispy duck. It was our first time having this dish with duck and it did not disappoint. The food at Lotus is just so so good! When we got back to the hotel we had dessert at Jean Phillipe. DH loved his chocolate cake and I got the dessert trio but nothing was really outstanding in the trio. Finally, discovered the new Alibi lounge at Aria on our trip. We liked it because it felt a bit low key but was never empty and it was a nice spot for people watching. Cocktails were good too. We were happy to finish up at our night with a few drinks at Alibi Lounge.
