i tried the blue ribbon restaurant week menu and was extremely disappointed. Not only were the choices very limited, (beef pierogis or squash soup to start, ribs or cornish hen and bread pudding for dessert) but even worse, unimaginative. case in point, both entrees came with the same sides (green beans & mashed potatoes). i wasn't sure what to expect for just $18 and some change, but feel as if the restaurant could've struck some sort of balance between keeping their food costs low and creating dishes that showcased their regular menu and made you want to go back. i had never tried the place and viewed this as an opportunity to see if it would be worth a return visit without spending a fortune. the food was really uninspired and not particularly good -- i. e. bland, barely seasoned cornish hen--like the chef couldn't be bothered to rub it with some herbs or go the extra mile in any way because it was for the "cheap menu." the ribs were tough and coated with an overly sweet bbq sauce... needless to say, i will not be back--did anyone else have the same experience?
