I bought and cooked some yummy "New Zealand blue-nose bass" last night, and today I thought I'd look and make sure it isn't on the "avoid" list for ecological reasons or mercury levels.
I can't find it. The only hits I got on a search were to menu descriptions, which leads me to believe this is a marketing name for some other species of fish (i.e. "Chilean Sea Bass" is really Patagonian tooth fish).
Does anyone know what it is?
