Bought a couple of California black velvet apricot at Michael Angelos for $2.49 today. First time I've seen or tasted this 'new find'. Most interesting! This varietal is slightly bigger in size than the common yellow skin apricot but with dark velvet textured purple skin and bright yellow flesh! At least twice as juicy as your normal apricot, its deliciously sweet with an interesting aroma. Hope they'll become more popular and come down in price.
