The Black Stallion - Hampton, MN

We meet the in-laws at The Black Stallion a couple of times a year. Normally it's a classic outstate supper club type of experience: big slabs of prime rib, fist size chunks of blue cheese in the dressing, etc. Unfortunately, based on our visit last night, something has gone horribly wrong.

Both the kitchen and the front of the house were a total circus. Just getting our order taken took nearly an hour. No manager in sight. Our server offered plenty of excuses and a couple rounds of free drinks, but I'm in no hurry to go back. We were ready to walk when our server "promised us" it would only be 15 more minutes. It was 30. And - surprise - the food was lousy.

I heard talk that the place is under operating under new management and that the entire kitchen staff may have turned over as a result. Bummer.

Anyone have other suggestions down in those parts? Or having similar bad experiences at the Stallion?
