YEE-HAW! That there BBQ thread certainly turned into a monster, didn't it. Good one, though. Almost as much fun yakkin' about it as eating it.
Below, a link to a black coffee-based sauce, that I suspect is akin to a couple of our local favorites, like Flints and, now, Johnson's. Their proportions are probably different, but in any case I suspect a hefty dose of dry mustard contributes a lot to the distinctive flavor of each sauce.
Do I like tomato-based sauce, too? Sure. On pasta.
