Black Angus in Hayward/San Lorenzo

I know I know ..this is a franchise but I got a good deal $20 off so I went and tried it for the 2nd time after a long hiatus. The place is huge and you might get lost in the maze of booths there. Way too dark for me. I went for the dinner menu.

The complimentary bread is a winner here. It comes warm. Lots of sesame seeds, nice crusts and soft flaky inside. Excellent beginning.

For salad, we had the honey mustard dressing which makes it good. Just regular lettuce salad.

Got the combo prime rib and grilled shrimp. Prime rib is moist and decent. I ordered it medium. Should have told them medium rare. It comes with red potatoes, broccoli and a little cup of au jus.

It also comes with potato soup which is quite good. Another choice is the steak soup.

Wife ordered the Twice Pepper Steak which is too thin (3/4 inch thick). This is not good IMO. Also there was just too much pepper corns. Maybe should have ordered medium rare instead of medium. Skip this next time. It comes with fried onions and fried potatoe wedges (dry & uninteresting).
