i've always liked the look of mark bittman's recipes in the Times, and so i tried out the ginger jam recipe last week.
a slight problem: the recipe called for 1.5 cups, or about 1 lb., of chopped ginger. i measured out 1 lb of ginger, and when chopped, it came out to about 3 cups. no real problem; i just went closer to the 1.5 cups, and the recipe turned out really well. i'll definitely make it again.
so i wonder if you chowhounds might recommend one of his cookbooks? are the recipes generally good? can't find the books in stores here in england, so i can't browse, but would appreciate your input.
