Bistro Verdu

I stopped into Bistro Verdu in Montrose last night and had a great dinner. I hadn't been in a while. They have done a remodeling since my last visit. The restaurant is now double the size with a wonderful bar serving wine and beer and tapas. The food is even better than I had remembered. I started with the beet and goat cheese salad...very good. My main dish was the flank steak, perfectly cooked. My companion had some of the starters (tapas) including the feta cheese plate and the shrimp in a spicey red sauce. We had chocolate bread pudding for dessert. We had a few wines by the glass and really liked the reasonably priced list. All in all, it was a lot of fun and I will definately be back. Despite the extra room, the restaurant was really hoping last night.

Our server informed me of some upcoming winemaker dinners. I believe she said the first one is March 2 and includes 4 courses and 5 wines from a winery called Core. I can't remember all the details, but if you give them a call, I'm sure they can fill you in.
