Bistro St. Marks experience

I write this on behalf of a dear friend who is traveling cross-country at the moment. She went to Bistro St. Marks for dinner last Thursday night and was VERY disappointed. I told her that I had read a few things on this board about service being spotty, but to her that was an understatment. She ordered a bottle of wine which was only brought to the table and poured after they received their appetizers and reminded the waiter. After this, the wine was kept at the bar and they did not refill their glasses so by the time they were already into their entrees, the bottle was more than half full and again had to remind the staff about their wine. Although she did admit to a very tasty scallop appetizer, she ordered the country pate which was a huge portion -slab was her word- but did not receive any bread to go with it. Or bread for the table when they sat down. Entrees were decent, but nothing as good as Grocery [her favorite] although the prices were still on par.
I know there are many opinions about this restaurant so I thought I would toss this experience in the mix.
